About Dagsmejan
Dagsmejan is a Swiss brand co-founded by Catarina Dahlin and Andreas Lenzhofer. They have the noble goal of helping people sleep better so they can “make the most of every day with a clear mind.”
You may be wondering about the name Dagsmejan. It’s actually a very thoughtful Swedish word.
Dagsmejan is a Swedish word that refers to the last days of winter when the warmth of the sunshine melts the snow even when the temperature is still below zero. It derives from two words, dag which means day and meja which means strength and power. It’s the time when nature awakens after a dark and cold period. The power of nature was our inspiration for creating a high performance sleepwear range using the latest technology and all natural fibres to give you the ultimate sleeping experience. Wake up as refreshed as on the first day of spring with Dagsmejan.
From Dagsmejan’s site
As far as products go, you’ll find Dagsmejan offering sleepwear for men and women. Each sleepwear line has a different goal, like keeping you cool, keeping you warm, or even helping your muscles repair themselves.
My Build
For reference, I’m 6’1″ and 170lbs. I have a 37″ chest and usually wear Large tops. My ideal pants size is 32×32.
What I Tried: Stay Cool Sleepwear
I tried a few pieces from Dagsmejan’s Stay Cool sleepwear collection:
- Stay Cool Sleep T-Shirt
- Stay Cool Sleep Shorts
- Stay Cool Sleep Mask
As you may have guessed, the idea of the Stay Cool line is that they’re light, breathable pajamas that will help you stay cool while sleeping.
Their website goes in-depth about the fabric and technology. It’s worth reading about, but if you don’t have the time, just know that the Stay Cool line is 8 times more breathable than cotton, dries in 1/3 of the time of cotton, and releases water vapor 60% better than cotton.
Now, let’s get to the review.
Stay Cool Sleep T-Shirt
I tried to Stay Cool Sleep T-Shirt in the Sage color. My first impression was that I loved the color and that the fabric was extremely soft. I mean, I’m talking really soft. It feels softer than silk to me.
The shirt seems true to size and is obviously super comfortable and lightweight. I’ve worn breathable fabrics before with athleisure clothing, but I was genuinely surprised by just how light this shirt is.
It lets a lot of air through the fibers, which is exactly what you want when trying to stay cool.
It’s a great shirt. It looks good, it’s extremely comfortable, and it keeps me cool. What more could I ask?
Stay Cool Sleep Shorts
The Stay Cool Sleep Shorts go along with the shirt very well. In fact, I think they’re more beneficial than the shirt (more on that later).
The Sage colorway is nice and earthy, and I like the sleek, minimal design.
As far as function goes, they’re great. They’re made from the same exact fabric blend (92% Microlyocell from eucalyptus and 8% Elastane/Lycra) as the Stay Cool Sleep Shirt, so you can bet that they’re extremely soft and breathable. They even have pockets to boot!
It’s kind of funny because they’re so soft and breathable, it almost feels like wearing nothing. They really are great for sleeping as they definitely help me stay cool.
The shorts have an elastic waistband with no drawstring which helps keep them lightweight. I haven’t had any fit issues with them.
They’re good for sleeping or lounging around, but I wouldn’t wear them out of the house. They’re so light that it’d feel inappropriate, like I’m wearing stretchy underwear out and about.
Speaking of underwear, Dagsmejan also makes Stay Cool Boxers. I haven’t tried them, but they’re made from the same fabric as the other Stay Cool pieces so they must be comfortable. They have a button fly that opens, and they don’t have pockets.
Based on Dagsmejan’s product photos, the hem of the Boxers looks shorter than the hem of the Stay Cool Sleep Shorts, but I’m not totally sure if it is.
I personally like the shorts as they’re good for sleeping and for hanging out around the house, but if you’re looking for something exclusively for sleeping, the boxers seem like a great choice (they’re also less expensive than the shorts).
Stay Cool Sleep Mask
The third piece I tried from the Stay Cool line is the Sleep Mask. Just like the shorts, I got the Sage color.
The mask is the same material as the other Stay Cool products but also features padding made from sustainable silk.
I gotta say, the mask is soft, but it doesn’t fit me very well. It has an elastic drawstring, but I wish it were less tight on my head. They’re going for a one-size-fits-all approach which makes sense, but the truth is that it won’t fit everyone.
Dagsmejan also makes a Black-Out Sleep Mask with an adjustable strap, so if you really want a sleep mask and need it to be adjustable, buying that one would probably be a better move.
Albeit, the Black-Out mask isn’t part of the Stay Cool line, so if optimum airflow is what your after, it might not work for you.
The Good and the Bad
The shirt and shorts are extremely comfortable, and they live up to their Stay Cool name. The colorways offered are great, and the price is reasonable for such high-quality garments.
I do wish the sleep mask had an adjustable strap so it’d fit my head.
I think I have a pretty normal-sized head, so I wonder if a lot of people have fit issues with it, but if you know you have a smaller head, the mask will probably be awesome.
Something on my mind is that I don’t really understand the point of the Stay Cool shirt. If you get hot while you sleep, it seems best not to wear a shirt. That’s why I think the shorts are more beneficial than the shirt.
I usually sleep in boxers, but the Stay Cool shorts are definitely a better choice. Because I don’t usually sleep in a shirt due to overheating, wearing the Stay Cool shirt doesn’t make sense to me. It’s lightweight, but it doesn’t keep me as cool as not wearing a shirt does.
That being said, it’s a comfortable shirt that’s awesome for wearing around the house. It’s also good for workouts because it is so cooling and moisture-wicking.

Dagsmejan’s products are ethically made and extremely comfortable. I can’t recommend the sleep mask because it didn’t fit me, but the shirt and shorts are simply great.
